Schengen Visa

A Schengen visa is a type of short-term visa that allows travelers to visit the Netherlands for a limited period of time (no longer than 90 days).

The Schengen Area is a group of European countries that have abolished passport and other types of border control at their mutual borders, allowing for easier travel between these nations.

When you apply for a Schengen visa for the Netherlands, you are essentially applying for permission to enter and stay in the Netherlands for a specific period, typically up to 90 days within a 180-day period. However, during your stay, you can also travel to other Schengen Area countries without the need for additional visas or border checks.

The visa application takes place at the Dutch representation in the country of origin. The application must include proof of the purpose and duration of the visit to the Netherlands.

Orange Carpet Visa Facility

The Orange Carpet Visa Facility is mainly for staff of companies with current or future economic interests in the Netherlands. But the same conditions and benefits can also apply to other types of organisations (cultural, scientific, government) and individual travellers.

The Orange Carpet Visa Facility is not available in every country, and application procedures differ depending on the country the foreign company is based in. Once admitted to the Orange Carpet visa program, employees can apply for a visa through a simpler procedure.
